This instrument is particularly designed for use in clamping the abdominal aorta to prevent or reduce the amount of blood flow to a particular segment. This clamp features curved shanks and DeBakey teeth giving it a strong and stable grip without damaging the tissue of the vessel wall as well as the surrounding.
