A Castroviejo-pattern micro needle holder, 142 mm long, with straight, delicate 10 mm jaws and a locking mechanism. Castroviejo needle holders are held like a pencil and opened and closed with a light squeeze of the spring handles, which gives fine control when placing small sutures.
The delicate jaws are suited to fine suture and small needles, as used in ophthalmic, plastic, hand and microvascular surgery. The lock holds the needle without constant finger pressure and releases with a further squeeze.
