Laryngoscopes
Laryngoscopes give a view of the larynx, either to place an endotracheal tube or to operate on the vocal cords. Intubation laryngoscopes are a handle and a blade; operating (suspension) laryngoscopes are longer tubes that expose the larynx for microlaryngeal surgery; and flexible rhinolaryngoscopes are used for office examination.
This collection covers all three, plus handles, light cables and laryngeal mirrors. Listings name the system and size; send us your model numbers if you need to match existing equipment.

Miller or Macintosh Blade?
A Miller blade is straight and lifts the epiglottis directly; it is often preferred for infants and small children, and for patients with a floppy or long epiglottis. A Macintosh blade is curved and sits in the vallecula. Sizes run from 0 (neonate) upward.
How to Choose
Intubation. Choose blade type and size by patient; a set covering Fig. 1–4 handles most adult and paediatric cases.
Microlaryngeal surgery. Kleinsasser for general adult work; anterior commissure scopes for difficult anterior exposure; Benjamin for children.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is an anterior commissure laryngoscope?
An operating laryngoscope with a narrow, angled tip designed to expose the front of the vocal cords, which is hard to see with a standard scope.
What is fibre optic illumination?
Light carried through fibres in the blade from a lamp in the handle, giving a cooler, brighter light than a bulb on the blade.
